Year 2DW  Spring Term 2025

express-yourself-concept-motivation-poster-rainbow-vector-banner-express-yourself-concept-

Our topic this term is 'Express Yourself'. We will be thinking about how the children express themselves through their likes, hobbies, talents, what they wear and emotions and also understanding that different people express themselves in different ways. We will look at artists and types of art and we will recreate our own. We will also learn about how people celebrate around the world for events such as St Dwynwen's Day, Chinese New Year and Lent. The children have decided they would like a theatre in our role play area, where they want to perform a range of shows including singing, dancing, acting, magic and puppet. The topic will be explored through a range of stories and texts and fun, practical hands-on activities.

Our Cwrt Rawlin Curriculum is developing with the children at its heart. It is based on the 4 purposes and interweaves all 6 areas of Learning and Experiences into purposeful learning opportunities. Our learning pedagogy is based upon the 12 Pedagogical Principles, which forms the platform from which we are then able to apply a wide range of ways to develop skills within authentic learning opportunities. We aim to encompass a wide range of opportunities to develop the cross curricular skills of Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Competence.

Immersion days at the start of the term are followed by celebration days at the end of term, to showcase the learning that has taken place.
